Another great stay at this hotel I think we were one of the first to stay after their winter break. Rooms slightly dated but clean and functional all public areas also very clean. A short walk into town with quite a few bars and restaurants opening for the season.

Firstly, this is not a 4 star hotel by our modern standards but they aren't charging 4 star prices. This is however a hotel we will return to despite a few little *******. The hotel is perfectly located, far enough away from the centre to be quiet but near enough to walk there in minutes. There are some excellent restaurants very close to the hotel which is great as they only serve snacks after breakfast. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are cleaned daily to a very high standard albeit later than you would usually expect- after 3pm most days- this did not matter to us but may bother some people. The staff are efficient but not exactly friendly, the exception being the young man with the glasses at breakfast- he was excellent. The breakfast staff seem to huddle together chatting rather than interacting with guests, I suspect there is a lot of training going on with it being so early in the season. The breakfast itself is not replenished before it's empty, the hot selection is not really hot more lukewarm but there is a great variety of choices to suit all tastes. The bar is immaculate & comfortable but lacked atmosphere as it was so quiet, the bar man was great & helpful. The hotel is dated, the rooms definitely need a refresh as does the indoor pool area but this did not impact on our enjoyment of the hotel. We will definitely return as the area is beautiful & the hotel suited us but if you are visiting you may wish to manage your expectations.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks on holiday in the Mirchora and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all pleasant, helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices were superb and it was easy to get an evening meal at the very many restaurants close by. We enjoyed the pool, walks to the town and the surrounding area and the coastal walks. The beaches were fantastic.

It was very quiet due off-season but facilities good though bathrooms need refurbishment to walk-in showers rather than baths. Breakfast choice excellent.

It was great stay in Algarve trip. There are many restaurants around the hotel. The room is very clean and good size.

First impression of the hotel were good, perfect location for us at the top of Carveiros main road near restaurants but far enough away to not be noisy. Reception and restaurant look to have all been recently decorated, nice and light decor. However I wouldn’t recommend the hotel for the reasons below - $40 for safe - $20 for safe cost and additional $20 deposit which you get back when you return the key. Our room keys didn’t work so had to go back to reception for that then when we got in the adjoining doors were locked so back down to reception again for those to be opened up. The rooms are very very dated and look dirty in parts. The plug socket by the bed buzzed and crackled so I unplugged it all holiday. The pressure on the shower was great however the bath didn’t drain very well and the hairdryer was really poor. The thing that spoiled the hotel for me the most was the 2 cleaning ladies, they did their job well but they were so rude, never smiled seemed angry with us if we weren’t ready for our rooms to be cleaned when they came - and it wasn’t like we were awkward as we were out and about from 11 every day and left the sign on the door to let them know. One day we were out from 9 on a trip came back at about 4 and they were cleaning our rooms, glared at us and told us to go away. Towards the end of our holiday my heart would sink if they were on our corridor. I usually leave a fairly decent tip for cleaning ladies when we’re away but not this time. On a positive note the breakfasts were really really nice, good selection all fresh and well presented and the hotel also has an indoor pool which was useful for us as we had a couple of cloudy days although this area too could do with a lick of paint and a bit of basic maintenance on cracked tiles and to be generally freshened up which it looked like the spa area had had already. I don’t think the hotel is a 4 star and based on the rooms would struggle for 3 star. Carveiro is lovely but I would not stay at this hotel again.

Our first time in Portugal, this hotel was recommended to us and I'm so glad we stayed there. When we arrived in Reception, the hotel manager Leo kindly showed us around the hotel and outside area. Our room was clean and comfortable, clean towels etc were replaced every day. Plenty of choice at breakfast, and the drinks/food in the pool bar/hotel bar were very reasonably priced. The pool area was lovely, loads of sunbeds and space to relax and unwind. The staff were amazing! Shout out to Niazi, Usman, "Alex", Talha, Elana, Natalia, Hiolando, Rodrigo, Obloktl and Margarita. Thank you for making our holiday great!
